Christmas time is colorful enough....time to get back to basics...

I could skate away on..."

With each picture... I try to take bigger risks... and bigger risks take more time... during that time... I find myself coming closer to the possibility of a bigger and bigger failure.... When that doesn't happen... my efforts seem to pay off... with surprising results... with new reasons to keep on painting...

Well, I kept studying this picture after I thought it was completed but it didn't want to let me go.... So I made some alterations.... I think I can start another picture now with more confidence that this one is done.  "let's have another round for the bright red devil...that keeps me in this tourist town" -RL

This one seems to have come to completion.  Although there may be more I might try to do with it.  In any event, I'm ready to start another one, while I let this rest a while....
In the next week, I'll be photographing my work over this past summer, totaling about 25 new works.  Getting the images and color correct will be my biggest challenge.  I'm excited about seeing the newest Travelogue Series posted up here with my earlier work from 2011. RL

After the sudden resurgence in work over the last 6mos... I felt it would be a very good time to start posting new work into my gallery here.  I'm not exactly sure how this is going to work or how it will appear in FB but I'm hoping that by posting in this one place, progress on my work will appear here and  if all goes well, will be posted to FB at the same time. 
I want to employ this web page for those interested in my painting....without any of the additional social commentary that I tend to get involved with on FB...Having this content shared from here first, should ensure that the progression of my work and it's final versions will not get lost or buried in my FB profile....I hope it works....RL
